UPDATE
HARRY'S
LARYNGITIS
Monday,
March 10, 2008
12
noon
Just finished a
consult with Dr. Frank DiMauro, my voice specialist. While
progress has been made, I simply WILL NOT be ready
to return this Thursday, March 13, 2008.
Fitting as it may
sound, my return date is now set for St. Patrick's
Day, Monday, March 17, 2008.
I will need the
Luck of The Irish, too. The plan is for me to gradually build my way back to
be able to handle the rigors of a four-hour daily broadcast. Initially, I will
be presenting a heavy guest line-up and feature your GOLD
RUSH of on-air phone calls, in order to work my way back
carefully.
I will have to
limit my monologues for the first week or so.
Thanks for your
continued faithful listenership of "Hurley in the
Morning" during my absence.
My thanks and
appreciation to Don Hurley, Kirk Conover, Ken LeFevre, Josh Hennig,
and, of course Rick Brancadora for all of their
assistance.
Don and Kirk will
be guest hosting for the remainder of this week, Wednesday will feature a
"Best of Hurley in the Morning" Program. Thanks to
Josh for putting this together. It will literally involve interviews from about
10 different "Hurley" programs of the recent past.
A bout of
laryngitis has only happened to me one other time during my broadcast
career. It was about 12 years ago. But, this experience has provided
a blue print for what it takes to get back.
April, May and June
are 3 crucial months ahead in the continuing development and progress at
WIBG 1020 Radio. I am trying to do everything possible, so that
when I come back, there will hopefully not be any setback.
Thank
you,
Harry
