On Tuesday April
17, 2007 at approximatley 1240 hours ACPD communications received a call from
the AAR Gas Station at 1403 Absecon Blvd. regarding a theft in progress.
Officer Michelle Clark was the first officer on scene and observed the gas
station attendant laying in the parking lot holding his leg. Officer Clark
immediately called for an ambulance and went to the aid of the attendant who was
later identified as Ravider Singh. Mr. Singh told Officer Clark that a
white male in a red Ford Taurus station wagon grabbed Mr. Singh's arm and drove
off dragging Mr. Singh. The male, later identified as Mark Allen Silher,
refused to pay for the gas and held onto Mr. Singh's as he drove
away. Mr. Singh could not release himself from Silher's
grip.
Mr. Singh was
slammed into a median which injured his leg. Finally the driver let go of
Mr. Singh and he drove off leaving Mr. Singh in the street. Silher fled
outbound on Route 30. Pleasantville Police located the vehicle and
driver in their city. Mr. Singh made a positive
identification on Mark A. Silher.
Mr. Singh was
treated and released from AtlanticCare Regional Medical
Center.

Through
investigation Detective James Davis located three warrants for
Silher. He was wanted out of California, Minnesota and
Colorado. The Becker County Sheriff's Department in
Minnesota is going to extadite. Their warrants is for Failure
to register as a predatory sex offender. California and Colorado will
not extradite for their warrants.
There is no bail
due to outstanding warrants.
