INVOLVING ATLANTIC CITY
COUNCILMAN TIM MANCUSO
Regarding the
allegations against Atlantic City Councilman Tim Mancuso ... First, let me begin
by stating the fact that there is no defense for anyone who chooses to
drive while under the influence of alcohol. It is just plain wrong and everyone
should just accept that.
However, I have
received several credible reports (in Mancuso's favor) that there may be
more here then meets the eye. That's all I can say about this for
now.
Additionally,
Councilman Mancuso has been doing a lot of important and productive public
work ... helping to recapture the government in Atlantic City for the
people ... which has been taken from them ... and, so negatively
impacted by the stain of the Craig Callaway/Bob Levy Political
organization.
No doubt, Mancuso
will have to defend himself and make amends if he is guilty of the present
charges he faces.
I have received a
great deal of e-mail and phone calls over the weekend ... some even pushing the
point by saying that if this were Bob Levy or Craig Callaway what would I be
doing.
The answer is
simple ... I'd be doing basically the same thing that I'm doing now ... except
for the fact that with all of the good that Mancuso has been doing the past
year-plus ... this appears every bit an isolated incident. When placed
in context with his regular public actions ... this one mistake (although
significant and unacceptable if it's true) is not nearly enough to warrant
Mancuso leaving public office.
There are
disgusting and outrageous things going on (on) a daily basis at Atlantic City
Hall. Regarding Mancuso, there is no pattern whatsoever of poor behavior,
public or personal.
That's the
difference here!
