WHELAN CRAFTING BILL TO POST PUBLIC RECORDS ONLINE

            On Wednesday, Jim announced he is crafting legislation that would implement Egg Harbor City

Mayor Joseph Kuehner’s call for all legally accessible public records in New Jersey to be made

available over the Internet.

            “Government should be of, for and by the people 24 hours a day and seven days a week,”

said Jim.  “Current technology makes that completely possible in the area of public records and

the state should be seizing the moment to make those records available online as soon as possible.”

            The instant access movement initiated by Kuehner is supported by the New Jersey League

of Municipalities, the New Jersey Conference of Mayors, the Sierra Club, Citizen Action, Common

Cause, and several municipalities around New Jersey.

 

WHELAN BILL TO BAN DANGEROUS “HENNAS” CLEARS COMMITTEE

          Yesterday, Jim’s bill to prevent the selling of temporary “henna” tattoos that contain a powerful

and dangerous chemical found to cause scarring and other disfiguring skin injuries was released by an

Assembly committee.

            “Young people and vacationers seeking a whimsical tattoo may be unwittingly subjecting themselves

to a life time of pain and aggravation,” said Jim.  “What may look like an innocent temporary body adornment

may actually be a permanent headache and a serious health problem.”

            The Assembly Consumer Affairs Committee released the measure 5-0.  It now heads to the Assembly

Speaker, who decides if and when to post it for a floor vote.

 

WHELAN BRINGS MVC MOBILE RV BACK TO HAMILTON TOWNSHIP

          Jim is once again teaming up with the Motor Vehicle Commission to bring the Mobile RV

back to the Fairways in Hamilton Township on Friday, June 1^st from 10am to 2pm. 

           

                   The Mobile MVC RV allows you to

            renew your license without travelling to the office!

            The Mobile MVC RV You Must Have Your 6 Points

                                                Of Identification:

 

Primary Documents (at least ONE of these must be shown):

• Birth Certificate (4 pts)
• Current NJ Digital Drivers License (4pts)
• Valid US military photo ID card
• US adoption papers

 

Secondary Documents (at least ONE of these must be shown):

• Civil Marriage Certificate (3 pts)
• US School/ College photo ID card with transcript (2 pts)
• Federal, State or Local Government Employee ID card (2 pts)
• Social Security Card (1 pt)
• Bank Statement or Record (1 pt)
• High School or College Diploma (1 pt)

 

You Must Also Show Proof of Address, which may be one of these:

• Utility or credit card bill from the past 90 days
• Checking or savings account statement from the past 60 days
• Original lease or rental agreement
• Property Tax Bill
