Atlantic City – The Atlantic City Education Association (ACEA), which represents more than 900 teachers, aides, secretaries, security personnel, custodians, central office employees, and maintenance personnel, has ratified the  a tentative agreement with the Atlantic City Board of Education.  The Board ratified the agreement on May 9, 2007.  The ACEA members overwhelmingly ratified the contract- give details.

“This is the first time in more than 20 years that the ACEA and the Board of Education have been able to come to an agreement before the previous contract expired,” said Marcia Genova, ACEA President.  “This reflects a new spirit of cooperation between the association and the board.”

The new contract will cover the period from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010.  There have been no changes to the health, dental, or vision insurance, and the salary settlement is equal to the county average.
