We are pleased to announce that the City of Ventnor was awarded the 12th Annual Paul Aiken Encore Award by the South Jersey Cultural Alliance.
The award recognizes the City of Ventnor for its commitment to the development of a unique facility which will provide residents with a central location for cultural, historical and educational programs and activities for many years.
The Ventnor City Library Cultural Arts and Historical Society is located at 6500 Ventnor Avenue between Newport and New Haven Avenues.
The Library is operated by the Atlantic County Library System who helped defer the cost of the library by paying rent to Ventnor City. Since the opening of the expanded library membership to the library has increase 149% and book check outs has increased 31.4%. For more information call (609)823-4614.
The Cultural Arts Center provides 18 programs for more than 200 children, adults and senior citizens. Classes are scheduled 6 days from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. For more information call (609) 823-7952.
The Historical Society contains more than 20,000 artifacts depicting Ventnor’s rich history. The center is manned by dedicated volunteers for 18 hours a week. Everyone should take the time to visit the Museum to learn about Ventnor from the 1800’s to the present. For more information call (609) 487-2226.
The Library and Cultural Arts Historical Center was built at a cost of 6.2 million dollars funded in party by a State Library Grant and the balance by the taxpayers of Ventnor who recognize the value and importance of such facilities.
