DAVIS WANTS TO HEAR MORE FROM McGETTIGAN

EGG HARBOR TWP. – Saying that since anyone can talk all day long on the accomplishments of Dennis Levinson, Keith Davis invited Jim McGettigan to talk more about his candidacy for County Executive.
            “Jim McGettigan really should be more forthcoming about why he is running for county executive,” said Davis, the Atlantic County Republican Committee Chairman.  “What exactly are the selfish reasons that prompted him to get into this race?”
            In two interviews, one on radio and one for PoliticsNJ.Com, Jim McGettigan said “It’s a selfish reason” that led him to run for County Executive.
            “McGettigan has an obligation to explain to people why he no longer wants to be sheriff and how he thinks he can possibly do a better job as county executive than Dennis Levinson,”  said Davis.
            Davis added he hopes McGettigan sticks to his pledge to run a positive campaign by first answering the fundamental question about his candidacy for the voters.
            “Dennis Levinson is very clear on why he is running for county executive – there is no one with a better record and no one who can more effectively lead this county into the future,” said Davis.  “Dennis is going to talk about these issues throughout the campaign.
            “But for now, Jim McGettigan needs to explain to the voters of Atlantic County what ‘selfish reason’ has gotten him into this race,”  said Davis.  “If, as he suggests, McGettigan’s whole reason for running is to get a pay raise, then I think the voters deserve to know that now.”
            Davis did offer a convenient solution for McGettigan to answer this question.
            “McGettigan is always welcome to publicly debate Dennis Levinson,” said Davis.
