ATLANTIC CITY HALL
OUT OF CONTROL

"Hurley in the Morning"
EXCLUSIVE

We begin this morning's program with Breaking News ... a "Hurley in the Morning," 1020 WIBG Radio exclusive.

The Atlantic City Public Schools has been paying $ 65,000 a year to the City of Atlantic City for trash service pick-up.

This relationship had been working well. Then, all of a sudden Domenic Cappella couldn't sleep one night, so he took a ride on a City trash truck.

It appears that he has had an Epiphany!

A well placed, "Hurley in the Morning" City Hall insider has confirmed that suddenly - out of no where - The Little General, Cappella has decided that he will dissolve the trash pick-up contract relationship between the City and the Board of Education.

Once again, the Craig Callaway-Levy-Baldwin-Cappella Gang have chosen confrontation over mutual cooperation. This odd group does not appear to be happy unless they are stirring things up in a negative manner.

I gave some quality time thought to this.

I placed a telephone call to the Atlantic City Superintendent of Public Schools, Fred Nickles. I first confirmed with him that my Atlantic City Hall insider was indeed correct. Yes, a letter to cancel this service has in fact been generated and received.

How stupid is this? Your children attend these schools. Why would Cappella and Company want to place the Board of Education in a situation whereby they will have to contract the trash collection service out to some stranger?

My next thought was, How many Atlantic City programs utilize the Public Schools gymnasiums and swimming pool?

It turns out that there are many. And, if the Atlantic City Board of Education were to charge the City of Atlantic City the customary $ 500 per-hour fee ... They would have to pay the Board of Education in the neighborhood of $ 900,000 per-year for rental fees.

This is exactly what the Board of Education should do.

Open letter to The Little General Cappella ... You think picking up the AC Board of Education trash and generating $ 65,000 in payment from the School Board is such a bad idea?

This is the dumbest and most ineffective local administration perhaps in United States history. Every move they make is boneheaded and counter-productive.

We now visit with Atlantic City Superintendent of Public Schools Fred Nickles for his reaction to this latest City of Atlantic City political stunt.
