FINAL ELECTION RESULTS

With all the votes now tallied ... I am very pleased to report that Local 54 President Bob McDevitt won a full majority, 51% of the vote!
Although the Atlantic City Press erroneously reported that McDevitt's margin of victory decreased from his win of 3 years ago. They failed to tell the real story.
The truth is that McDevitt went head-to-head against just one opponent 3 years ago when he captured about 60% of the vote.
The truth also is ... for McDevitt to win 51% of the vote this year when he faced 5 other opponents is unprecedented.
Almost always, a race featuring five candidates results in a plurality winner.
McDevitt won a clear majority of the vote ... This should be trumpeted loud and clear ... Yet, it won't be.
Those with an agenda, always seek to distort the tru meaning of a great victory.
Any way you shake this one out ... This was a huge victory for McDevitt ... a mandate!
Here are the final results as follows:
BOB McDEVITT 1,646 VOTES (51%)
Al Tabei 658 votes
Vanessa Jordan-Gaston 580 votes
Frank Stranix 275 votes
Lou Amarando 91 votes
Colm Owens 22
Congratulations to President Bob McDevitt. These are serious times. The membership of Local 54 was wise to place a seasoned, professional, skilled and highly qualified leader like McDevitt back at the helm of South Jersey's largest and best union for 3 more years.
